DistilleryHub ("we", "us") operates a professional networking platform for the distillery, ethanol, and laboratory industry. This policy explains what data we collect through the app, why, and how you can control it.

1. Information we collect

Account info: name, email address or phone number, password (hashed by Firebase Authentication — we never see it in plain text), and optionally a Google account link.
Profile info: headline, company, location, bio, skills, profile photo.
Content you create: posts, comments, job listings, articles, market listings, likes, reactions.
Messages & calls: chat messages (text, images, voice notes), and call metadata (who called whom, when, how long) for 1-on-1 and group calls. We do not record or listen to call audio/video ourselves — calls connect directly device-to-device.
Device & usage info: a push-notification token (if you enable notifications), online/last-seen status, and standard technical logs (IP address, browser type) collected automatically by Firebase/Google infrastructure.
Contacts (optional): if you use "Import Contacts" on a supported Android browser, you choose which phone contacts to share; we only use them to check for existing members and never upload your full address book automatically.

2. How we use your information

To operate core features: your profile, feed, messaging, calling, job board, and search.
To send notifications you've opted into (see Settings → Notification Settings to control these).
To detect and act on abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. Third-party services we use

Firebase (Google): authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications.
Cloudinary: hosting for images and voice-message audio you upload.
Sentry (if enabled): anonymized crash/error reports to help us fix bugs — this does not include your messages or personal content.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they process data on our behalf.

4. Your choices & rights

You can edit or delete most profile info at any time from your profile page.
You can control which push notifications you receive under Notification Settings.
You can block or report other members.
To request a copy of your data or full account deletion, email us (details below) — we'll respond within a reasonable time.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal content within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain something for legal or safety reasons (e.g., active abuse reports).

6. Children

DistilleryHub is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children under 18.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
